We at 808 TRACT Magazine are committed to making our website, 808TRACT.com, accessible to all visitors, including people with disabilities. 808 TRACT Magazine is based in Los Angeles, California. As a business establishment that serves California residents, our site is subject to the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Title III, and the California Unruh Civil Rights Act (California Civil Code §§ 51–53), which together require that our digital presence be equally accessible to people with disabilities. California courts have consistently applied WCAG 2.1 Level AA as the technical benchmark for evaluating web accessibility under these laws, and we have adopted that standard as our target for this site.

 

What web accessibility is

An accessible site allows visitors with disabilities to browse the site with the same or a similar level of ease and enjoyment as other visitors. This can be achieved with the capabilities of the system on which the site is operating, and through assistive technologies.

 

Accessibility adjustments on this site

Our site is built on the Wix.com platform and has been adapted with the goal of conforming to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA — the standard referenced by California courts under the Unruh Civil Rights Act and adopted in the U.S. Department of Justice’s 2024 Final Rule on web accessibility. This site’s contents have been adapted to work with assistive technologies, including screen readers and keyboard-only navigation. As part of this effort, we have:

 

  • Used the Wix Accessibility Wizard to identify and remediate potential accessibility issues, and enabled the Accessibility Monitor to flag issues on the published site on an ongoing basis

  • Set the primary language of the site so that assistive technologies can accurately identify and render the content

  • Defined and ordered the content structure of the site’s pages so that keyboard and assistive technology navigation follows a logical, predictable sequence

  • Defined clear, hierarchical heading structures across the site’s pages to support screen reader navigation

  • Added descriptive alternative text to meaningful images so that their content is conveyed to visitors using screen readers

  • Applied color combinations that meet the WCAG 2.1 AA minimum contrast ratio requirements for text and interactive elements

  • Minimized the use of motion and animation to reduce barriers for visitors with vestibular disorders or motion sensitivities

  • Enabled keyboard focus indicators so that visitors navigating by keyboard can see their current position on the page at all times

  • Enabled a “Skip to Main Content” link so that keyboard and assistive technology users can bypass repeated navigation elements and reach the primary content of each page directly

  • Configured Wix’s built-in ARIA attributes for standard platform elements, and ensured that all contact forms use the new Wix Forms module, which includes accessible field labels and error handling compatible with screen readers

 

Known limitations

Our site is hosted on the Wix.com platform, and certain structural and technical aspects of accessibility are determined at the platform level and are not fully within our direct control as a site operator. While Wix provides built-in keyboard navigation, semantic HTML, and ARIA support for its standard components, some platform-level constraints may affect full WCAG 2.1 AA conformance. We are committed to monitoring and remediating any barriers within our control and to engaging with Wix’s accessibility tools as they continue to develop. We do not use any accessibility overlay solutions. All accessibility improvements are implemented directly through Wix’s native editor tools and content practices.
