Our Story
Albert Neal, editor-in-chief of 808 TRACT Magazine, published the coming-of-age novel Ill At Ease and wrote, produced, and directed the sci-fi period short ZALIKA. His professional work spans trade publications, including Fostering Magazine and School Bus Fleet—proof that the discipline of writing well for a specific, demanding audience translates across subjects. Albert is known for his voracious appetite for hip hop and fantasy lore as serious art, and wanted to know what would happen if the same attention to detail he poured into his corporate writing and responsibilities were brought to Blerd culture. That's how 808 TRACT Magazine was born.

Our Team
Albert is a writer, illustrator, and musician, a home-spun Blerd and chief editor anchoring a magazine that belongs to its community. Guest collaborators shape the magazine’s content through writing, editing, and design roles. Community writers, illustrators, inkers, and colorists bring our one-page comic to life. Together, we locate and cultivate the next generation of storytellers.
